One of our favourite and most popular red wines - medium body Shiraz with delicious harmony of fruit, spice and oak.
The opulent flavours are seductive and addictive: dark berries and chocolate and good oak including lashings of vanilla - silky tannins and a long finish - you won't be able to stop at a single glass!
The Domaine Jamet is managed by Jean-Paul Jamet and his wife Corinne. Jean Paul took over from his father in 1991. According him, the character of the wine comes from vines planted in 25 separate vineyards on the Cote Blonde and Cote Brune. Jamet is a beefy, animalistic, masculine, structured, peppery and powerful style of Côte-Rôtie that ages well and develops complexity with time.
The aromatics are vibrant, fresh, expressive, and bold with both floral and fruit-driven characteristics provoking intrigue and delight in equal parts. The palate is bold and confident yet elegant and refined and displays all the traits that place Barossa Valley Shiraz in such high regard around the world.
This cool-climate expression of Shiraz is the beneficiary of the philosophy, methodology, and stylistic approach applied to its more senior stablemates. The aim of this blend was to ensure a balance of weight and generosity with subtle restraint. Enticing aromas of red fruits, loganberry, blood plum, pepper, bergamot, malted barley, smoked tea, musk stick, aniseed, and herbal murmurs of stalks. The juicy palate evokes a dark fruit profile of black cherry and mulberry with a spice influence redolent of sumac, Sichuan pepper & tamarind. Hints of dark chocolate and fennel frond arise from the long-detailed palate. A fine acidity enmeshes with high volume layered talc-like tannins interweaved with acid line and delicate fruit weight. Our best TCG Shiraz yet. A great year for this cool-climate style of Shiraz. This wine is vegan-friendly.
