Situated on the same plateau as the legendary Cos d'Estournel, Château Lilian Ladouys is one of Saint-Estèphe's most exciting addresses. Since the Lorenzetti family's purchase in 2008 — with daughter Manon at the helm since 2018 — the estate has earned Cru Bourgeois Exceptionnel status and completed its conversion to certified organic farming in 2023, a milestone that underscores their commitment to both terroir and sustainability.
The 2023 vintage tested Bordeaux producers, with spring mildew pressure reducing yields across the Médoc. Saint-Estèphe's heavier clay soils fared better than most, offering natural resilience against the season's challenges. The blend of 57% Cabernet Sauvignon, 37% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot and 1% Cabernet Franc delivers a wine of real depth and classical character.
On the nose, dark cherries, blackcurrant and red plum lead, lifted by tobacco, roasted herbs and a mineral touch of crushed stone — quintessential Saint-Estèphe.
On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied and fresh, with spice, cedar and dark berry fruit woven through fine, well-structured tannins and a long, savoury finish. Approachable now, it will reward patience — drink from 2027 through to 2040.
A compelling organic Bordeaux red from one of Saint-Estèphe's most dynamic estates.
