The 2022 Château Angélus reveals a superbly complex and practically flawless nose—deep garnet-purple in hue, it offers flamboyant aromas of red currant jelly, wild blueberries, cassis, and candied violets, with floral touches of jasmine tea, star anise, and crushed rocks.. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and impactful from the first sip, yet unfolds gracefully, layering perfumed black and red fruits atop ultra-fine, silt-like tannins and delivering a long, achingly shimmery finish. Wine critic Lisa Perrotti-Brown MW awarded it 98/100 and described it as “a vintage of precision and aromatic purity—the finest Angélus ever”.
